Ecolibrium is a new addition to Sony’s growing library of games for the PlayStation Vita, and is slated for release tomorrow for free as a part of Sony’s Discovery Apps, Sony has announced.
Described as an “eco-simulator”, Ecolibrium tasks players with “creating harmony within your own created environment” and simulates a biosphere for players to interact with. In that sense, it’s a bit like Spore or SimEarth.
In Ecolibrium, players will be able to select and interact with a wide variety of flora, fauna, and artifacts to create an ecosystem. They can allow for their creatures in the simulation to go about their own business or kept them fed manually. Unwanted creatures can be “exiled” elsewhere, or even introduced through Vita’s Near feature.
“Grow your world by hunting fantastical creatures from the environment around you using GPS or, if you prefer, you can sell or buy them in the online player-to-player auctions. It’s all in aid of giving your eco-system the perfect harmony, so don’t be shy! And if you’re competitive, try online challenges and climb up the global leaderboards.”
Ecolibrium will be free for all PS Vita owners to download.
