Planetary Annihilation Kickstarter Reveals New Stretch Goal for “Galactic War”

September 7, 2012 by Lana Polansky

Uber Entertainment now looking for 1,800,000 to fund metagame.

In the project’s eighth update, Planetary Annihilation developers Uber Entertainment have announced a new stretch goal for Galactic War, which they describe in the update as “a replayable single and multiplayer metagame,” continuing,

“Play locally by yourself or co-op with your friends against our world class Skirmish AI’s. Or play on the live multiplayer servers and try to conquer the galaxy!”

The video above also provides insight into the metagame’s design, gameplay, and creative process.

The Planetary Annihilation project, which has already surpassed its $900,000 goal with $1,289,374 and 7 days left, is now increasing the goal to a modest $1,800,000 to fund Galactic War.

The game features a procedurally generated galaxy map, online multiplayer “mega-battles,” servers dedicated to clan warfare, and a “dynamic story system” which logs your battle data and generates special missions and counter-attacks to make things more interesting.
