Rising Force Online, a free-to-play sci-fi MMORPG with a storied past, is now offering registration for the closed beta via the official teaser site.
The game, which was once active until the servers were shut down in 2008, pits players into a hostile science-fiction environment framed by an ongoing conflict between three factions: the Bellations, the Corites and the Accretians. The Rising Force gameplay, shadowed by this conflict, bases its momentum on player-driven politics, military action, economics and so on.
The server shutdown took place in November of that year, when the license expired for both its North American and European publishers. What once required a paid subscription is hoping to make a comeback using a free model instead.
Publisher GamesCampus promises that those participating in the closed beta will have the ability to unlock in-game rewards which those players can then use when the final game is relaunched. The publisher has also mentioned that they will be hosting global PvP tournaments.
