Check out the above launch trailer for I Am Alive’s new PC version, which was scheduled to arrive on Windows machines on September 13th but was quietly pushed forward to today, amidst very little fanfare.
Far from being a straight console port, the PC version of I Am Alive features extra gameplay modes and other pretty enhancements, so that is nice, considering the game was originally never slated to arrive on PC and its developers, ah… previously chafed somewhat at the suggestion.
This early drop comes shuffling at the heels of yesterday’s Rock, Paper, Shotgun interview (also covered here at Gameranx) with Ubisoft representatives about the publisher’s decision to drop their much-maligned always-on DRM scheme. Says Player Attack:
it’s possible that I Am Alive is the start of a fresh new approach from the French publisher. Wouldn’t that be nice?
It really would, but let’s not hold our breath. However, if you’re a PC player who’s been curious about this not-so-little title, now is the time to go pick it up.
