Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has just received its final batch of content through the Call of Duty: Elite service on the Xbox 360. Players who downloaded the new content are reporting, in large numbers, that they are experiencing a lot of problems when trying to download it.
The newly released content pack contains Gulch, Boardwalk and Parish maps for Modern Warfare 3. This is the last pack that Elite subscribers will receive for Modern Warfare 3, and concludes the development of the title.
Activision has responded to the complaints, acknowledging the problem. An update to the Call of Duty: Elite status ticker reads, "users will have issues assessing new MW3 content."
Likewise, Microsoft, which runs the Xbox Live service, has posted an update stating their awareness of the problem and are working to resolve the issue.
“We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.”
The issue follows the disruption of the Xbox Live service yesterday, which prevented players from logging on and downloading the latest batch of updates from the service. It has since been fixed. This too, shall pass.
