Capture the Flag is going to be a very big part of the competitive multiplayer mode in 343 Industries' upcoming game, Halo 4.
Capture the Flag is a mode that needs little introduction, but for players unfamiliar with multiplayer offerings, Capture the Flag is essentially a gameplay mode in which two teams—clasically in red and blue colors—battle for supremacy and attempt to capture each others' flags by stealing them from the opposing base and return them to their home point. Capture the Flag in Halo 4 is bit like football, if football had power armored Spartans, guns and a whole lot of brutality in it.
Actually, it's nothing at all like football, since football only has a single contested ball. But I digress.
Capture the Flag isn't the only mode to feature in Halo 4's multiplayer, and exists in addition to traditional Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Oddball—among others.
The newly released screenshots of Halo 4's Capture the Flag mode show off the game in action on the Exile map, which was revealed awhile back. In the visuals, players can be seen beating each other to death with the flag pole, stealing the flag from each other, and engaging in various hostile activities throughout Exile's lush environment, which presumably takes place on the planet's surface—or at least a simulation of the planet upon the UNSC Infinity.
Halo 4 is set for a November 6 release and is exclusive to the Xbox 360.
