We haven’t heard much from development team Sucker Punch. Known most for the Sly Cooper and Infamous franchises, their latest release, Infamous First Light launched all the way back in 2014. Since then, the developers have quietly been working away on a new title and if one industry insider is to be believed, their next title release will be a brand new IP.
The news came directly from NeoGaf user Shinobi602, an industry insider that’s proven to have a good track record when it comes to leaking video game news. Within a new post going over IP development, Shinobi602 unveiled that Sucker Punch is hard at work in bringing out a brand new IP.
Nothing more has been unveiled about this new IP and it’s curious as to what their next adventure release will be about, especially after their long haul of Infamous title releases that first started out back in 2009.
There’s a good chance that we’ll see some type of announcement regarding Sucker Punch’s upcoming video game that’s currently in development during E3 2017 and it’s likely that the title will not see a release date until sometime next year, 2018, though that is purely speculative.
This isn’t the only news that came out from industry insider Shinobi602 this week. After the announcement of Scalebound’s cancellation for Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC platforms, gamers began to speculate that this wouldn’t be the only title to receive the ax from Microsoft.
According to Shinobi602’s sources, Crackdown 3 is still not in any danger of being killed off though the development process has been rocky. Again, these are reports from an industry insider and have not yet officially been confirmed.
