ZombiU Developer Diary Episode 1

In a new behind-the-scenes video for ZombiU, Senior Producer Guillaume Brunier goes over the intended atmosphere Ubisoft is trying to achieve with the survival horror title. By only giving players one life, the developers are trying to instill a sense of real danger in the players. Hopefully, adding that sense of permanence will create more tension and terror. 

Brunier states that ZombiU is looking to bring fear back to the center of gameplay. Although the game will have a slower pace, Ubisoft wants to bring an intense level of immersion to the survival aspect.

The video looks to be the first in a series of short clips detailing the design process and how Ubisoft wants to turn the Wii U into a horror machine. It's been quite some time since an original horror IP has made its way onto the kid-friendly console, and ZombiU is going to cause some major bed-wetting.
