The multiplayer in Black Ops 2 is set to receive the addition of Scorestreaks, which were revealed today at the game's multiplayer presentation at the Gamescom event in Germany.
Aside from the create-a-class menu, which we wrote about earlier today, the video showed off a significant number of new details about multiplayer in the upcoming game.
Among those details is the addition of Scorestreaks, which differ from Killstreaks in previous titles. Essentially, instead of care packages and bonuses as you earn kills, you'll earn them for scoring points this time around.
The philosophy behind Scorescreaks is to encourage players to play cooperatively in a team by assisting each other instead of competing for the most kills in a round. Although players will certainly be rewarded points for killing enemies, they'll also earn points for accomplishing a wider variety of goals, such as capturing the flag, performing assists, or completing map objectives.
Scorestreaks, like Killstreaks before them, must first be designated from the game's create-a-class menu.
