In an update on the Halo Waypoint site, 343 Industries has released a new video showcasing the various weapons the UNSC has at its disposal.
According to 343, the UNSC's weapons in Halo 4 are meant to be grounded in modern day tech and that they're purpose is to function rather than look cool, This is an intentional move as they want the player to feel like an underdog compared to the Covenant's sophisticated arsenal.

In addition to the video, the development team also shares their thoughts on how each gun handles and what makes it stand out from the pack. From the Magnum to the Spartan Laser, it's there so give it a read.
So, could Halo 4 have one of the best gun sounds in games today? That's open for debate, but for futuristic weaponry, I don't think I've heard anything better than what we've been shown so far by 343. What do you think?
