Dark Souls is widely regarded as one of the most important franchises in recent RPG history, and despite the series apparently reaching a conclusion, Dark Souls III is currently a contender for VR. It is also a possible title for Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch.
According to one of Let’s Play Video Games’ sources, From Software has been able to get Dark Souls III running on the Switch. Although there is no official confirmation of release at this stage, there are internal company discussions underway considering the financial viability of re-releasing the game on Switch with DLC.
Development on the Switch port has apparently been going on for several months, and will include the Dark Souls collection with the previous two titles bundled in.
From Software was one of the developers who originally pledged support for the Switch, amongst other major companies like Activision, Capcom, Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. Time will tell whether fans of Dark Souls see the port come to fruition, a decision which rests on the shoulders of publisher Bandai Namco.
