New Styx Shards of Darkness Pics Emerge From the Shadows

December 7, 2016 by Katrina Filippidis

Highly instagrammable.

The ancient, goblin anti-hero of Styx: Master of Shadows has just finished a photo-shoot for his upcoming game Styx: Shards of Darkness, and fortunately, we were given some copies to share.

In the screenshots, Cyanide Studios shows players a preview of things to come in the Port of Korrangar, a new playable location in the game’s campaign. One of them has Styx gliding down a zip line, the other manning a ship as a nearby figure stares on at the blimps, and lastly, a shot with his dagger and invaluable flask of amber. He is ready to silently assassinate at your beck and call. Unlike the prequel Master of Shadows, Shards of Darkness is teeming with 4K resolution scenery to better match the visual standard of many modern titles.

Overall, Shards of Darkness promises to deliver a vertically oriented, open world style experience, with a strong emphasis on verticality and using the environment as an opponent against AI.

Styx: Shards of Darkness is due for release in 2017 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
