Overwatch’s New Oasis Map Goes Live on PTR

November 29, 2016 by Kris Kittie

If you have a PC, you can give the newest control map a whirl.

Overwatch’s test servers have been updated on the PC once more. This time the newest map, Oasis is included. Oasis was first revealed back at BlizzCon. The map is a Control map with some unique elements. There is now moving traffic that can kill you, and jump pads.

Blizzard offers an official description of the map. “Oasis is one of the world’s most advanced cities, a shining jewel rising from the Arabian Desert. A monument to human ingenuity and invention, researchers and academics from around the region came together to found a city dedicated to scientific progress without restraints. The city and its inhabitants are governed by the Ministries, a collection of brilliant minds who possess many secrets that have attracted the interest of powerful organizations from around the world.”

If you have a PC copy of the game, you can play the map for yourself as of right now. To do so, you need to make sure you’ve downloaded the PTR version of the game (accessible through Blizzard’s launcher), which is free to PC owners. You can also check out other upcoming content and changes, including Symmetra’s newest redesign.

We do not yet know when Oasis (or any of the other changes on the PTR) will go live in the actual game. However, Blizzard is slightly ahead of schedule with the release of Oasis in the PTR, when they said that it wouldn’t debut until December.
