Playdead, the independent Danish studio best known for 2010’s creepy smash hit Limbo has put up a Steam demo of Inside, their latest offering. Inside is a densely atmospheric adventure game chronicling one boy’s journey as he finds himself irrevocably drawn towards the centre of a dark design.
Inside released in July to overwhelmingly positive reviews, mimicking the success of its predecessor. Boasting a satisfying collection of puzzles and simplistic, mainly monochromatic aesthetics, Inside apparently thrives on subtle detail. The 1.2GB demo comes as a surprise release from Playdead, who just made the announcement on Twitter.
Like Limbo, Inside continues Playdead’s trend of one-worded titles. It’s a safe bet that potential future games from the company will also adhere to this stylistic choice of nomenclature.
The full version of Inside is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. It is currently on sale for $14.99 USD, or as part of a bundle with Limbo for $15.28 USD.
