Brian Fargo, the lead developer of the Kickstarter-funded Wasteland 2 has released new artwork of one of the game’s Rangers, which was created for the upcoming game. The artwork was drawn by Andrée Wallin, a concept artist at InXile.
Fargo also shared his opinion of the art, saying it “sets the bar for in-game portraits,” which leads us to believe that the artwork is more than just a concept piece, and may have an actual presence in the game proper much like the character portraits in Baldur’s Gate.
Wasteland 2 is an RPG that’s being done in the post-apocalyptic vein of Fallout, a game which Fargo and his band of merry men and women were responsible for almost two decades ago.
Wasteland 2 is on track for a mid to late 2013 release on both the PC and Mac.
Previously released artwork includes a depiction of a group of Desert Rangers, a screenshot, and a Scorpitron that you can see below.
