While the Assassin's Creed III video featured below has been making the rounds the past week, it never stays long enough for someone to actually watch it before Ubisoft yanks the plug. I'm guessing it was shown well in advance of when they have it planned?
Nevertheless, the video can be seen below and it's the intro for Assassin's Creed III's multiplayer. Before we can see actual gameplay, a narrator for Abstergo talks about the Animus, how we're all connected and how they give us the chance to "game within the past."
We get to see the multiplayer's character selection screen where players can pick a "hero" and customize said hero as you progress within the different multiplayer modes that ACIII offers.
Speaking of game modes, the trailer also lists some of the game modes available for Assassin's Creed III's multiplayer. There's Domination (4 vs. 4 team base mode), and Wolfpack (2/4 against AI).
Domination is like Conquest in Battlefield or Domination in Call of Duty, wherein players must capture and defend territories to score points. Wolfpack will let 2-4 players team up to take on the game's AI as you hunt down specific targets.
The trailer also states that the Animus will let players connect, collaborate and challenge each other to see who's the best assassin. In a rather nice move by Ubisoft, players will be able to see what the "company's future initiatives" are in a news feed that highlights the products that will soon hit the market and it seems to be tied in to how well you do in multiplayer.
While multiplayer components are a dime-a-dozen these days, Ubisoft's latest trailer for ACIII's multiplayer seems to tug at the right strings — at least for the time being.
Now, go watch the clip before it's taken down yet again.
Assassin's Creed III will be out on October 30 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
