Dishonored 2 doesn’t perform quite as well as it should on the PC. Arkane has announced that it’s aware of its performance issues, and we’ve even prepared a list of tips and possible fixes that will help you to improve how the game runs. Players have reported sluggish gameplay and dropped frames.
Bethesda says that for now, players should play on High settings if their computers meet the recommended specs, but not higher. Only play on Ultra if your rig is capable of running it at those settings.
Only players who own high-end GPUs like the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 are advised to play the game on 1440p or 4K resolutions. Make sure you have V-Sync enabled. If you’re still experiencing issues, make sure your Adaptive Resolution is between 50 and 70%. You can also disable TXAA Anti-Aliasing and lowering the texture quality.
The biggest performance benefit comes from installing the latest drivers. You should have 375.70 if you’re running an Nvidia card and 10.16.2 if you’re playing it on an AMD card.
Dishonored 2 is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
