Titanfall 2 will be breaking the cycle by releasing all of its post-launch maps for free. Unlike Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty, the newly released FPS will offer every map developed for the game for free to everyone who owns the game.
The studio announced on an official blog post that the only thing players will ever have to pay for as mandatory is the game itself.
“All maps & modes will be free in Titanfall 2 Multiplayer,” said the developer in a blog post. “This means once you’ve purchased Titanfall 2, your investment includes a full single player campaign, the full multiplayer maps and modes, and long-term support with no hidden costs.”
The first of these releases will be a remake of the Titanfall map Angel City. You can check out the map above.
However, the game will still have cosmetic microtransactions, but they won’t have any impact on gameplay apart from making you look cool.
