Unity-based upcoming third-person shooter Guns and Robots promises to offer an abundance of the former and the latter. The Masthead Studios title, set for release in December, is planned to be a free-to-play online shooter in which players can allow their goofy-looking robots to roam all over the maps, engage in arena battles with other robots, earn achievements and make their way up the leaderboards.
What's neat is that robots are not limited to specific weaponry: rather, players can equip their robots using a variety of weapons and a long list of over 150 parts. Thoughtfully, custom-designed maps allow players to test each of their robot-weapon configurations.
Players can team up with their friends or go lone wolf against players online, and are able to target enemies with multiple weapons at a time.
While this sounds like it may combine some of the 3D arena style of Counter-Strike or Tribes with the goofiness of something like Worms, Guns and Robots' trailer suggests the game has a spaghetti western thing going for it and the concept behind configuring each robot sounds rather interesting.
