Straight out of Comic-Con 2012, Warren Spector announced recently that the Disney sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, is to be released on PC and Mac OSX on November 18 alongside the Xbox, PS3 and Wii releases. The 3Ds tie-in game, Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion, is also slated for a November 18 release.
Spector has also said that unlike the first game, Epic Mickey 2 will feature speaking roles for the characters. Not only that, but singing ones too.
As much can be seen in this shiny new video, which features the game's opening cinematic. We're introduced to the game's stylish animation and art style as well as the narrative's basic premise. And then, uh, the characters proceed to break into song. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, Disney-style singsonging isn't exactly something many gamers might expect from their favourite media. Still, given the surprising depth of the first game, it's not out of the question to remain optimistic about the sequel.
