Vander Caballero's Papo & Yo, a compelling, semi-autobiographical game about growing up with an alcoholic and abusive father, is set to come to US PSN on August 14th. No other release dates have been revealed thus far.
The atmospheric game, a debut release for the development studio Minority, follows the story of the young avatar Quico who befriends a giant pink monster, that, when he consumes frogs, transforms into a flaming, abusive demon. The monster then goes ballistic and Quico bears the brunt of that abuse. The game is puzzle-based, not dissimilar to Ico. However, the tone and pace of the puzzle-solving will change dramatically based on whether or not the demon is calm or enraged.
The game will cost $14.99 for regular users or $11.99 for Playstation Plus members.
