YouTube Red is a relatively new venture by YouTube that hosts original content. It costs $10 a month, removes ads, and allows you to download shows to watch offline. The network has been making a recent push into original programming, much like TV networks have done so for decades.
One of the premier pieces of content for YouTube Red is a new venture by Dan Harmon: a sitcom about eSports. The show does not yet have a name, but its creator describes it as a half-hour scripted comedy series starring Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson of Game Grumps.
“The show follows a newly formed team of eSports players trying to make it to the top in the cutthroat world of competitive gaming,” reads a Variety report.
Harmon previously created Community and is currently the showrunner for Rick & Morty on Adult Swim.
