For those of you who wanted to jump on into Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 at the start of next year, that’s unfortunately not going to happen. The developers (who are also publishing) over at CI Games have made the executive decision of delaying the game’s release a few months. The title was last spotted at TwitchCon, where a demonstration of it was available for the media and streamers to try out.
The good news is that the positive feedback from people is what motivated this decision. The team wants to ensure the best possible product and will use the extra time for optimization and polishing their work.
“We’re making an ambitious game and unfortunately still need an extra few months to make sure it will stand up to the expectations of the fans,” said Marek Tymiński, CI Games CEO. “Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimizing the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished. I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole. This is a new beginning for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series.”
The game is a tactical military shooter where you’re thrown into a civil war in northern Georgia, near Russian territory. As an American sniper, you have an official mission for the sake of your country. But as a family man, you also want to find your brother in this war-torn stretch of land. You have to depend on your weapons, gear, and instinct skills to make the most out of your surroundings. The environment may put you to the test, with weather and time of day being elements to consider.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is (now) set to arrive on April 4th, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game, visit the developer’s website, Twitter, and Facebook.
