TellTale has apologized for the late arrival of episode two of The Walking Dead and promised that the third installment, Long Road Ahead, will drop mid-August. Although the exact date hasn't been released, TellTale has stressed that getting the best version of their game to the community is their number one priority.
In an official blog post, TellTale writes, "Our goal from day one has been to deliver your game episodes as quickly as possible, and where we can, simultaneously across all platforms and regions. We've been working closely with our phenomenally supportive partners to try to make this a reality. We will continue to work on this and furthermore, we will strive to improve our communication with you so that you know what’s happening. Please rest assured that we are doing all we can to get your game episodes to you as quickly as possible."
There was a two month gap between the release of the first and second episodes, and that seems to be the same trajectory for Long Road Ahead. TellTale hasn't divulged whether this will be standard for the episodic releases, but if they keep up their set quality standard, the community will be pleased.
The Walking Dead has been receiving fantastic feedback from critics and gamers alike, many agree the wait was well worth the end product. As long as TellTale continues to give us their best work, I think future apology letters like this one won't be necessary.
