Cuphead is the much anticipated Xbox One/PC game that looks just like a classic 1930s style cartoon. Sadly, it has been delayed until next year after an initial release date of 2016.
Developer Studio MDHR announced the news today in a brief post on its website, saying it now intends to launch the game in mid-2017 instead of its original time slot slated for 2016.
“Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact,” it explained. “We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in mid-2017.”
“We wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936, it will now be 81.” The devs quipped. Fans might not be so happy with this response, however.
Cuphead captivated gamers everywhere when it premiered with its eye-catching trailer at E3 2014. The visual quality has continued to hold up over the last two years, although it does have its issues.
