Heroes of the Storm has just unveiled an epic, action-packed new game mode called Heroes Brawl. This mode is especially unique because it brings players a fresh take on Heroes of the Storm each week.

Heroes Brawl evolved from what was Arena Mode and now provides an experience where players battle on unique battlegrounds with surreal twists and a custom rule set that makes the gameplay new and exciting each time. You can play three Brawls per week to earn unique rewards such as portraits and 1,000 gold. There are three kinds of Heroes Brawl battlegrounds, standard battlegrounds with mutators, brand new arenas, and single-lane battlegrounds. All of these are made specifically for Heroes Brawl.

The rules of Heroes Brawl change each week to keep play fresh and engaging. One week may involve a brawl where everyone is Nova and Snipe instakills heroes. The next may entail normal teams, but on a map with only one lane. Or your picks may be restricted to only spellcasters to see who comes out on top.

A few variations of Heroes Brawl include:

Hammer Time:

Hover tanks for everyone! All players on each team are Sgt. Hammers, with thrusters permanently engaged! The cores an invulnerable, so the goal is to capture towers to win.

Punisher Arena:

You can rack up points by killing enemy heroes and Punishers. The first team to 100 points wins!

Lost Cavern:

A standard map but with only one lane. How will you survive when the enemy is in your face at all times?

New Arenas:

  • Punisher Arena: Rack up points by killing enemy heroes and Punishers, First team to 100 wins!
  • Sky Temple Arena: Capture temples and user their energy beams to destroy the enemy core!
  • Garden Arena: Kill the Garden Terriors and Shamblers then collect their seeds. The first team to collect 100 seeds win!

Mutators: Not much is being said about these as the developers don’t want to spoil too much of what’s coming. These mods will add completely new and unexpected quirks to drastically change how you play Heroes of the Storm.

Unique Hero Selection: For each brawl you may either have preset heroes, shuffle (pick your hero from a custom lineup) or pure random. New hero selection mods will be coming soon.

Heroes Brawl will hit PTR October 10th and the official launch will occur during the week of October 17th.
