The newest Civilization game is being introduced via the leaders of the factions through a series of videos uploaded to the developer’s YouTube channel. Today is Saladin, and his country of Arabia.

As the first Sultan of Egypt and Syria, his place in history is solidified as the political figure who led Islamic troops during the crusades. Their special “The Last Prophet” ability automatically grants them the last great prophet available on the field if they haven’t chosen one already. This is important because it allows Arabia to found a religion no matter what the circumstances. The unique unit called the Mamluk involves horses, and it heals at the end of every turn. The Madrasa unique tile improvement generates more science than the University, and it provides faith based on the adjacency bonus. Saladin’s “Righteousness of the Faith” ability reduces the cost of faith for worship building, and produces more science, faith, and culture as a result.
