Yooka-Laylee’s Cast of Characters Includes Shovel Knight

September 25, 2016 by Nick Monroe

He’s so epic, that containing himself to one game is impossible.

The cartoony cast of Yooka-Laylee certainly captures the same platformer magic that the old Banjo Kazooie experiences had. From animal folk to talking mine carts, the newest trailer uploaded by Team17 gives us an introduction to the colorful characters that inhabit the world.

The stars of the game are Yooka and Laylee, a lizard and his bat sidekick. They’re trying to stop Capital B from taking over their world. The Trowzer snake salesman will supply Yooka and Laylee with the upgrades and power-ups necessary to thwart Capital B’s agenda. But how can they stop the mad genius that is Dr. Quack? It’ll take the help of Yooka and Laylee’s friends Rextro and Dr. Puzz to make it happen. But maybe it can be pulled off. If the talking cannon Blasto and mine cart Kartos tag along for the ride. Shovel Knight shows up at some point too. The cast of Yooka-Laylee is filled with too many people to fit into one short video though, we’ll have to wait until the game’s release to see the rest!

That wasn’t the only new footage shown off at EGX, either. If you want to see 25 minutes of fresh gameplay, click here. Yooka-Laylee arrives in March 2017 for PC (Mac/Linux), PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
