In Watch Dogs 2, the San Francisco Bay Area is at your fingertips and hacking is your weapon to bend the city, and its people to your will. Marcus Holloway is a brilliant hacker who aims to pull off the Hack of the Century, a crippling shutdown of ctOS 2.0, an invasive technology used by the powerful to silently control everyday citizens.
In this new trailer, Marcus teams up with the Dedsec crew, an elite group of hackers that are engaged in a quest to shut down the plan of power hungry Blume CTO, Dusan Nemec and restore power to the people. Marcus meets the crew, Sitara, Josh, Wrench, and Horatio.
The behemoth of a company that they’re after, Blume, is described as a “spider web” that is constantly collecting and making backroom deals in order to trade people’s private data.
Among their crimes are rigged elections, spying into people’s homes, and it all ties in to the world’s most powerful monopoly, Blume, where companies have agreed to funnel all of their data through that one company. With the help of Raymond, Blume’s “Public Enemy Number One”, they engage in a large scale counterattack against the corrupt corporation.
