For many fans, the next week will be full of anticipation. For in just one week, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition drops on the Nintendo Switch, and this has been a port a long time coming. The game has been asked for by fans ever since the Switch came out and it started doing its menagerie of ports. Thankfully, Nintendo and Monolith Soft heard the call, and as a result, we’re almost ready to explore the planet Mira once again. However, what’s a JRPG without some epic music? You might have noticed that Nintendo has been dropping music from the game to get players pumped. Well, one of its more famous songs has been dropped today!
The track “Uncontrollable” is popular not just because of its great beat but because of the fact that it’s been featured elsewhere over the years, including on a popular internet show that we personally recall hearing the track on. Regardless, it’s a great beat, and if you need to have something stuff in your head throughout the rest of the day, this is a good one to start with:
Going to the game itself, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition focuses on the planet Mira and the humans that have literally crash landed on it. In this game’s timeline, Earth was attacked by hostile alien forces and the planet itself was wiped out. Aware of the impending attack, humanity created “arks” to ferry colonies of people to another world. Mira was the “choice” for the people of New Los Angeles.
You are one of the colonists who is awakened from a stasis pod and is asked to join the group called “BLADE.” This group searches the planet Mira not only for other survivors but also for key resources to help the people of New Los Angeles thrive. There is also a greater mission that the entire colony is trying to resolve. We won’t spoil it, but it is grand and takes up the bulk of the story.
Speaking of stories, there will also be a new story set after the events of the main campaign where a new threat comes to Mira and New Los Angeles. Mysterious rifts are engulfing the planet, and with them, new dangers. You and your team will have to fight back and learn the truth so that humanity can finally find peace in their homeworld.
If that excites you and you want to learn more about this game, you can get it on Nintendo Switch on March 20th.
