Deck 13, the studio behind Lords of the Fallen, has just revealed the exo-armor sets that players will be able to equip in their upcoming science fiction action RPG, The Surge.
The suits are said to be developed by an international corporation called CREO, that sets out to save the world in a not-so-distant future where the planet is basically dying. As a new employee of CREO, you find out that things aren’t as they seem and find yourself trapped in a sector overrun by malfunctioning drones and machines.
Described as an action RPG, the game features a unique dismemberment and upgrade system that allows you to outfit your armor as well as your body with cybernetic implants and other upgrades based on weapons and gear you salvage, as well as items crafted through blueprints.
One of the new screenshots (seen above) depicts an exo-suit known as the Liquidator that’s outfitted with industrial attachments for use in areas filled with hazardous materials. It’s basically a tank.
The second screenshot, seen below, depicts the Proteus, an advanced light weight armor system that offers health regeneration and doesn’t require a lot of core power so you can spend more of it on implants.
The final screenshot shows off the Lynx, a suit designed for speed and maneuverability at the cost of physical armor.
The Surge comes out on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2017.
