Valve has announced that Counter-Strike Global Offensive, will have an open beta. This news was revealed by the developer in the official Counter-Strike blog.
While no exact date was given on when this open beta will take effect, Valve states that it will happen "between" the game's pre-order start date (July 21) and release (August 21). I take it, end of July or early August, then?
CS: GO is, of course, the sequel to the timeless military FPS Counter-Strike. The sequel will be adding in a few items, but the core gameplay will remain the same. Nope, it won't be like Call of Duty, so don't expect Perks or Killstreaks. It won't be like Battlefield either, so don't come in expecting to ride a tank. It's just pure, honest-to-goodness gunplay.
Counter-Strike Global Offensive will cost you $14.99 once it's out on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
