Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night came to Kickstarter back in May 2015. Made by former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi along with Inti Creates, this game would have the sort of old-school Metroidvania feel that some gamers always enjoy. The game was projected to release by March 2017, as far as the given timelines from their successful Kickstarter (that raised $5.5 million) says. Unfortunately, people wanting to get their hands on this game will have to wait until 2018 for that to happen, according to a new update video posted on their official YouTube channel.
The news came via an update on their Kickstarter page. “In short: To ensure the game meets his quality standards, IGA is bringing on additional developers and has moved his estimate for the game’s release back to the first half of 2018,” they say. “We’ll continue to keep you updated on the development process every step of the way. (In fact, the next regularly scheduled update, featuring some songs and commentary from Michiru Yamane, is just about ready to go. And as IGA mentioned, you can expect more news about the development process as soon as it’s available.) Thanks again for all you’ve done to make such an exciting project possible.”
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set to release in the first half of 2018 for PC (Mac/Linux), PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and Vita. Hopefully some of those consoles are still supported by then.
