Square Enix has just put out a video called Agni's Philosophy. Described as a Final Fantasy-themed tech demo, Square Enix appears to be playing around with a number of Middle Eastern concepts.
This professionally produced tech demonstration is rendered entirely in CGI, depicting combat between some armed militants and lightning-wielding wizards. The wizards are survived by a single female wizard who goes on the run. The militants unleash a mutated dog to pursue her after injecting it with some sort of serum. It catches up to her, and casts some sort of spell to summon a monstrous flying creature to aid her rescue.
The scene then pans out to reveal a world that's quite unlike our own, with colossal skyscrapers and massive arcologies.
Little is known about Agni's Philosophy, apart from the fact that it looks really cool, and rather unlike any of the other Final Fantasy titles.
