Microsoft might not have had much to show of Gears of War: Judgment, but Epic Games and People Can Fly were more than happy to show off a bit of the game's new multiplayer Overrun mode.
Overrun is essentially Beast Mode and Horde Mode combined with the addition of character classes. Players take turns switching sides each round, with the humans defending a power generator and as the Locust attacking it.
The addition of classes—much like TF2—adds a deeper cooperative element into the game, whereas previously each and every player's role was to simply kill as many opponents as they could. Baird, an engineer, can drop turrets while Cole, the soldier, lays down covering fire and resupplies his teammates with ammunition. Sofia, the medic, can revive her teammates and gas bomb opponents and finally Paduk, the scout, can reveal enemy positions with a beacon. The Locust team gets similar classes, albeit ones that are more offense-based than the defensive humans.
