Outgoing THQ EVP of core games Danny Bilson has discussed what to expect from Saints Row 4.
During one of his final interviews as an executive of the publisher, Bilson said to Eurogamer that the sequel would expand the appeal of the over-the-top IP:
There’s a lot of new characters and new points of view in the game. I can’t say much or I’ll get killed. But I actually think it’ll have an even broader appeal than the last one, based on the content. But being involved with it, I love what they’re doing with 4. It expands the appeal of the game. It has all the stuff you love, plus more stuff you’ve never seen in any game. Well, we kind of do that with Saints Row, right?
Every sequel has got to be better than the one before and have more value and more fun. The team is working really hard towards that right now very diligently.
Bilson said that THQ would most likely not talk about it for another year. Still, as he's already stated, we know that Saints Row 4 is going to be "wilder".
Saints Row: The Third, meanwhile, has shipped 4.25 million units since its November release last year. The franchise itself has shipped over 11 million units. An expansion pack entitled Enter The Dominatrix will be release this fall.
