Rock Band Blitz Powers Up

Rock Band Blitz’s Power-ups basically kill the chance of this being as leader board heavy as Rock Band 3, but it might more than make up for it with "fun."

Rock Band Blitz isn't a traditional Rock Band game, and that's not a bad thing. While some people don't get the idea of a Harmonix game that doesn't use plastic instruments, others are excited for a chance to renew their skills honed in games like Amplitude and Frequency. Either way, it doesn't matter what your preference is, buy Rock Band Blitz is a must for fans of the series, if only for the free export of new tracks.

 Further creating a distance between the two different Rock Band styles is the use of power-ups in Blitz. As you can see in the video above, things can be a little bit over the top, but ultimately the idea is that you maximise your points in fun and entertaining ways. How on earth that'll affect the leader boards I don't know, but I'm willing to reserve judgement.

Rock Band Blitz is still due in "Summer 2012," but expect more announcements during E3.
