Pokemon Go seems to be the latest craze, but another “Go” game is slated for an arrival very soon. Square Enix Montreal’s latest Go title, Deus Ex Go will debut for Android and iOS devices on August 18th.
The company took to Twitter to announce their latest project. They did announce Deus Ex Go back in June during a livestreaming event. You play as Adam Jensen, the hero of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.
His puzzle solving abilities include hacking, combat, and augmentations. Square Enix has promised some of the “most challenging” ones across the entire Go series.
“With Deus Ex Go, we really want to take the Go series to another level,” Square Enix Montreal studio head Patrick Naud said in a statement at the time. “Building on the learnings of Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go, our goal is to push the experience a step further in terms of visual treatment and game design in order to bring you a fresh, reimagined puzzle experience that celebrates the franchise.”
Square Enix also revealed that Deus Ex Go will get a “smart, game-changing new feature” a few weeks after launch. This feature will be a puzzle-making tool that players can use to create and share puzzles with their friends online.
Laura Croft Go and Hitman Go are already available from Square Enix. They retail for $5 each for their mobile versions, though a price point has not yet been announced for Deus Ex Go.
