Capcom, legendary developers of Street Fighter and various other titles, says that they want to shorten the time spent developing some of their already-established franchises.
Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto spoke to investors earlier this week, explaining that while he fully expects to see a rise in development costs, the extra expenditure will lead to profit in the future.
"Speeding up development will probably raise the cost. But creating quality content will be vital to Capcom's ability to survive by overcoming intense global competition," said the CEO.
Kenzo also talked about Capcom’s employment, noting that the company plans to hire on one-thousand new workers over the next ten years.
Apparently, Capcom’s eventual goal is to become the planet’s most popular provider of digital content; they want to achieve this milestone by the year of 2022. I don’t know about you, but I can’t even look into next week, so this is a pretty big statement.
