2KGames has revealed just now that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released this year on October 9, 2012. The game will be out for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will be out three days later on October 12 in Europe.
The announcement of the game's release date comes with the unveiling of the game's pre-order bonuses, which includes the Elite Soldier Pack. The bonus content adds an extra soldier to your roster of units modeled after the original XCOM.
In addition to the retro soldier, you'll also have access to soldier decorations for aesthetic armor upgrades and a variety of colors with which to customize your units.
Pre-order bonuses will be available at participating outlets and retailers.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is being developed by Firaxis, the creators of the Civilization series of games.
