SEGA has just confirmed what a lot of fans were dreading regarding the Gearbox-developed shooter. Aliens: Colonial Marines is now officially skipping 2012 entirely and will instead, be out on February 12, 2013.
If this news makes you a bit sad, SEGA has accompanied the release with a "new" trailer for the game. If you're wondering why I'm using quotes, it's simply because this new trailer titled "Suspense," isn't entirely new. It's more like old footage with a few seconds of new stuff added in.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that SEGA intetionally delayed this as to avoid the big Halo 4 vs. Black Ops II vs. Medal of Honor Warfighter shooter-fest happening later this year. Of course, I'd also like to think that Gearbox is using this extra time to polish the game and make sure it's up to snuff, too — at least one can hope, no?
Keep in mind that this release date is just for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 release. The announced Wii U version 's release date will be announced at a later date.
While I've been expecting this game for a long time now (it was originally announced back in 2006), at least we now have a definite release date, no?
