Max Payne 3 has surged to the top of the charts since its release last week on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, beating Diablo III in sales in the UK all-formats chart, reports Eurogamer. Diablo III sold 8000 less copies than its man-shooter counterpart.
The game debuted at number one on the charts, and earned 10 times the sales of Max Payne 2 in its 2003 launch week. The report goes on to say that 58% of Max Payne 3's sales went to the Xbox 360, with the remainder going to the PlayStation 3.
However, the report fails to cover any digital sales Blizzard made in the UK, which may well make up for its smaller sales figures.
