What is actually part of the hype train for Metal Gear: Rising shows Raiden before he ever went “under the knife,” so to speak. Solidus Snake is also in the video, who is found addressing Raiden as “Jack,” which was his name before undergoing the robotic transformation.
I am sure we all remember Raiden’s new body from Metal Gear Solid 4, and how much tail he kicked. Without him, there were a number of times Solid Snake probably would have met an untimely demise; near the end of Metal Gear Solid 4, he took on like twenty enemies with no arms and a sword in his mouth…
