If you're sick of 2D fighting games, then SEGA might have just the thing for you. The publisher has just announced the release date and price for their upcoming 3D brawler Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. The game will be released digitally over Sony's PlayStation Network and Microsoft's Xbox LIVE on June 5 for $14.99/1,200 Microsoft Points respectively.
In addition to the game, SEGA will also release character customization DLC packs for all of the game's 19 combatants. Each pack will contain 600-950 customization items and will be available day-and-date of the game's launch for $4.99/400 Microsoft Points per pack.
Lastly, SEGA has also announced that two additional costume packs, consisting of nine characters' worth of DLC items and the other with 10 characters' worth, will also be available for purchase at launch for $14.99 on PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Points on XBL each.
For fighting game fans, is character customization really that important in a fighting game? So much so, that it's priced the same as the actual game itself?
