Portal 2’s “Perpetual Testing Initiative” released earlier this week. Apparently, things are going pretty well for the new service, as Portal 2’s users have created and published more than 35,000 maps through the game’s “Puzzle Maker.” The maps in question have – collectively – been downloaded over 1.3 million times.
Valve is looking to thank Steam’s customers by way of a major “Steam Sale” – something the pervasive company has become extremely well-known for. This weekend, games and items within other games will be sold at a largely diminished price. For instance: Portal 2 will be sold at 66% off and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for half of that – 33%. Also in attendance will be discounts on various Team Fortress 2 Workshop Items, to the tune of 50% off.
The sale will continue over the weekend and into next week; it ends on Tuesday, May 15th. Personally, I am booting Steam up now…
