Max Payne 3’s Launch Trailer Reveals a Man Haunted by His Past

May 10, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Watch Max as he struggles through his latest story.

Max Payne is a man haunted. Haunted by his past tragedies, failures, and regrets. With wounds that refuse to heal and new ones that open each time he makes another bad decision in his altogether depressing life, Max Payne is once again the protagonist of his own game.

Dismissed from the force for his addiction to painkillers, Max winds up in the city of Sao Paolo, Brazil, where he takes a job protecting the family of a wealthy real estate mogul. Unfortunately for Max, events spiral out of control when the woman he's charged with protecting is kidnapped.

Alone, ashamed, and lost in an unfamiliar city, Max must regain his wits and try to make things right—and redeem himself through his actions.

You can catch a glimpse of Max's struggles in this newly released launch trailer of Max Payne 3, which is set to arrive in stores on May 15 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It'll be out in Europe on May 18.
