Bethesda’s popular mobile game, Fallout Shelter has arrived on iOS in China. The game launched today, July 22nd.
Bethesda, in collaboration with Shanda Games Ltd jointly published the game in China. Shanda Games Ltd is a local published in China.
As of now, it is unclear whether or not the game has been altered to meet China’s local certification rules. These rules involved blocking games that, for example, promote or incite obscenity, drug use, violence, or gambling; essentially anything that could harm public ethics or Chinese culture and traditions.
No word yet from Bethesda as to whether or not Fallout Shelter will become available on Android or PC in China as it is in the US. The newest update, 1.6 was released on July 16th.
As of the latest count, an astounding 50 million plus users are registered. For Bethesda’s first mobile game this is truly and outstanding success and a tribute to their game quality across platforms.
