Sticking with Black Ops II for a moment, it appeared over the last couple of days that Activision had forgotten a console when announcing the next Call of Duty. PC, PS3 and 360 were represented as usual, but there was no mention of Nintendo's super-popular (but limited) Wii. Until a sub-forum turned up on the official Call of Duty boards that was dedicated to the Wii, at which point people just presumed it would be a "little brother" release, not exactly heavily supported or advertised but a release nonetheless.
Not so, Activision have come out to say that the sub-forum being launched was a mistake and that people shouldn't presume there's a Wii version in development based on it.
Members of the Wii Community — When migrating our forums from Call of Duty: Black Ops to the new site, the “Wii” section migrated with it, which should not have been the case.
To date, we have only confirmed development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. Please stay tuned here for any updates.
I think it's a no-brainer to think that the next Call of Duty will make it onto the Wii U, what with improved network features and high quality graphics coming as standard. On the flip side of that though, Wii users are going to be asking why they're being forced to buy a new console to continue enjoying the series.
