Max Payne 3’s Gang Wars Incorporate Story Elements

May 3, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Rockstar’s release of a new video showcases Max Payne 3’s Gang Wars multiplayer mode.

Rockstar has just released the second multiplayer gameplay trailer of Max Payne 3, which presents the game’s new Gang Wars mode this time around.

The Gang Wars mode uses events from the single-player campaign as narrative starting points for each match with a dynamically shifting storyline based on the outcomes of each round.

It’s a little like Quake Wars and Brink in that way, but it goes a little deeper with the integration of actual story events. The mode allows players to form grudges and alliances, such as Vendettas and the ability to join Crews. The special abilities called Bursts, like Bullet Time, will also be available in this mode.

Max Payne 3’s multiplayer modes offer support for up to 16 players.

Max Payne 3 is set for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 18 and on the PC on June 1.
