Other than a nice little info dump in an issue of Game Informer walker this year, Sony has stayed fairly tightlipped about Naughty Dog's latest outing, The Last Of Us. This includes the games release date, naturally.
Well, it may have been revealed ahead of what one can assume to be an announcement Sony had planned for this year's E3 (likely capping a stage demo of the game.)
According to GameStop's Canadian site, the game is releasing on September 9.
Now, I normally hate posting release date rumors as they're typically very obviously fake (GTA V on March 9? A Saturday?), but this one seems quite plausible (and GameStop has yet to remove it).
As a new IP, TLOU probably couldn't release any later than September. Naughty Dog is a celebrated team, but developer names mean little at retail; brands do.
October is a mine field with Resident Evil 6, BioShock: Infinite, and Assassin's Creed 3 lining the month.
September? The Last of Us would likely be the talk of the town.
